Heartland Community

Hospice Society

OUR VISION: To create a home-like haven that provides peace, comfort, and dignity for those in their end of-life journey and their loved ones.

WHO WE ARE

Founded in 2016, we came together to
gather ideas and resources for a hospice in
our community. We began by forming a
society, and continued to research
and ask questions. Soon our voices were
heard and talks began to open a wing for hospice care in Rivercrest Care Centre and surrounding communities in the heartland.

Six beds opened in the spring of 2018.

We are fortunate to be able to support the
care centre for any needs outside of Alberta
Health Service’s scope of practice. We help to
create a home-like atmosphere in a hospice
setting and, as much as possible, bring
comfort to those during their end-of-life
journey and their families.

SUNSETS ARE
PROOF THAT
ENDINGS CAN BE
BEAUTIFUL TOO.

OUR MISSION
To raise awareness, gather resources,
and advocate for the continued
evolution of the community hospice
